Michael, a disabled detective inspector – who’d much rather be a professor of literature – and Nuala, his detective constable driver – a highly-educated student of criminology – find themselves baffled as they struggle to find motives among a most unlikely group of suspects, wealthy suburbanites, connected solely by a single piece of evidence: the partial print of a handmade shoe.
